Chocolate Bar With Hazel Nuts Recipe

by miamoss

Ingredients:

  • 200g (7 oz) dark chocolate (70% cocoa or your preference)
  • 100g (3.5 oz) whole hazelnuts (toasted and roughly chopped)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil (optional, for a smoother texture)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • A pinch of sea salt (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions:

  1. Toast the Hazelnuts (if not already toasted):
    • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
    • Spread the hazelnuts on a baking tray and toast them for about 8-10 minutes until golden and fragrant.
    • Let them cool slightly, then rub them in a kitchen towel to remove the skins (optional). Roughly chop them.
  2. Melt the Chocolate:
    • Break the chocolate into small pieces and place it in a heatproof bowl.
    • Melt it using a double boiler (placing the bowl over a pan of simmering water) or in short bursts in the microwave, stirring every 20 seconds to avoid burning.
    • If using, stir in the coconut oil and vanilla extract for extra smoothness.
  3. Combine:
    • Stir the chopped hazelnuts into the melted chocolate, mixing well.
  4. Shape the Bar:
    • Pour the mixture into a lined baking dish or chocolate mold.
    • Smooth it out and tap the mold gently to remove air bubbles.
    • Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top if desired.
  5. Set and Serve:
    • Place the dish in the fridge for at least 1 hour, or until fully set.
    • Once hardened, break or cut into bars.
